Sillby Privacy Policy
The short version. Sillby has no internet permission. It cannot open a network connection, so nothing it reads or stores can be sent anywhere. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs.
You can verify this yourself: open Android Settings → Apps → Sillby → Permissions, or inspect the app's
manifest. android.permission.INTERNET is not requested.

What Sillby reads
Your notifications
With notification access, Sillby reads the notifications your other apps post: the app they came from, the title, the text, message senders, timestamps, avatars and action buttons. This is what the app exists to show you on your lock screen. Reading happens entirely on your device.
The list of apps installed on your phone
Sillby queries which apps can be launched (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES) for one purpose: to show you a
list you can pick from when choosing which apps to exclude, filter or group. The list is never stored beyond
the current screen and never leaves your device.
Accessibility service
Sillby uses Android's Accessibility Service API for a single technical reason: it is the only supported way to draw its tab and panel on top of the lock screen. It does not read screen content. While your phone is locked, Sillby is told which app has come to the front, so it can hide its tab in the apps you choose: that name is held in memory only and never leaves your device.
Connection status
The optional Phone status page reads whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data, the signal level, and whether NFC is on. These are read-only checks of your device's own state. Sillby does not use them to connect to anything, because it cannot.
What Sillby does not read
- Your calendar. Sillby's Calendar page is its own, stored locally. It does not request or read the device calendar.
- Your app usage. The unlock and screen-time counters are Sillby's own tallies. Sillby does not request Usage Access and does not read which apps you use.
- Contacts, location, microphone, camera, photos, files, call logs or SMS. None of these permissions are requested.
What Sillby stores, and for how long
- Notification history: kept in a database in the app's private storage, so you can review notifications you already dismissed. You choose how long it is kept, from 1 to 30 days; the default is 7. Anything older is deleted automatically. You can export it to a text file or erase all of it at any time from the History screen.
- Your notes and calendar entries: whatever you write in the Notes and Calendar pages, in the app's private storage.
- Your settings: appearance, rules, excluded apps, and the date Sillby was first installed on this phone (used only to know whether the extra features stay unlocked for you).
Uninstalling Sillby deletes all of it from your phone.
What leaves your device
Sillby itself sends nothing. It has no network access. The only way any of this data can leave your phone is through Android's own backup system, which belongs to you and to Google, not to Sillby:
- Your notification history is deliberately excluded from cloud backup. The content of your messages never reaches Google Drive. This is configured on purpose, not left to the default.
- Your settings, notes and calendar entries are included in cloud backup, so they survive when you move to a new phone. They go to your own Google Drive, under your Google account, encrypted on modern Android with a key derived from your device PIN. The developer has no access to them and never receives them. You can turn Android backup off entirely in your system settings.
- Direct device-to-device transfer (when you set up a new phone from your old one) carries everything, including history. That transfer is local and does not pass through any server.
What Sillby never does
- No user accounts and no sign-in.
- No analytics, telemetry, crash reporting or usage measurement.
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your data with anyone. There is nobody to share it with.
Your controls
- Exclude apps so Sillby ignores their notifications entirely.
- Privacy rules to hide titles, message text, avatars or media previews on the lock screen, so the panel shows only what you want visible before unlocking.
- Notification history stays behind your unlock: it is only reachable inside the app, never on the lock screen.
- Set the retention window from 1 to 30 days, export your history, or erase it all.
- Revoke notification access or the accessibility service at any time in Android Settings. Sillby stops working and stops reading anything.
Children
Sillby is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
About this website
This policy covers the Android app. The website itself uses privacy-friendly analytics with no cookies and no persistent identifier: page views, and which site or search brought you here. Nothing is stored on your device, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
